Most of the time we talk about education, we think about school.We often see the school in a sense, the traditional formal. Many people believe that true learning can only occur in formal classrooms. Others feel education occurs in various forms and environments. There may be no definitive answer to the question, ‘What is Education? “However, we can start thinking about the purpose of education. Is it to educate young people become responsible citizens? Is to develop the individual and society, in order to ensure the economic success of a society or is for educational purposes only focus on the development individual talents and intelligence? perhaps it is the balance of the three that defines education? While our answers may differ, we might agree that education is a fundamental human right. When rights are given the growth and development, society as a whole are more likely to improve in many areas such as health, nutrition, incomes and living standards and the general population level fertility.

Information in this section will ask you to think about some very important issues around the topic of education. As a global citizen of the world it is our responsibility to think critically about issues and try to come up with solutions to problems that interfere with education. In 1990 UNESCO launched the EFA, the movement to provide quality education for all children, youth, and adults by 2015. Seventeen years later, much progress still needs to be done if we are to achieve the goals for 2015. Unfortunate reality is that for many countries, issues of greater precedes improve the quality of education.
