AIDS or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome is a syndrome “raid” against diseases due to decreased body’s immune system. AIDS is caused by Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).
AIDS is a continuation of HIV at a rate that is more severe and dangerous. Weak immune system in people with AIDS makes the body susceptible to opportunistic infections.
Opportunistic infection is an infection caused by organisms to look for opportunities to attack people who have poor immunity. Some examples include cancer, pneumonia (PCP), Kaposi’s sarcoma, a drastic weight loss, impaired memory, and tuberculosis (TB).
The virus was not actually cause death. Death occurs mainly due to opportunistic infections because their immune systems are low. HIV is slowly lowered in the cells of the immune system (CD4) of normal CD4 levels by 1000.
